Blog Post 1 - Ben Daniels
Completed:
- Movement system: https://trello.com/c/3vANGo2B
- Force based movement system
- Movement vector added every 60th of a second
- This vector's value is determined by the axis the player is moving on, as well as jumping
- Movement vector limited for only movement, outside forces won't be affected by the movement limiter to allow for greater knockback
- Jumping, side to side movement with variable values
- Controls for movement for local co-op completed
- Punching and a direction-based system for abilities: https://trello.com/c/dE8NqmSX
- 8 directions, set based on keys pressed
- Player punches based on direction
- Knockback based on direction
- Function created that takes in the direction and force applied, will knock back the object that has the function
- Flamie art: https://trello.com/c/RKbMaUSf
- Most of the set of static art for Flamie, the first character
- Fist
- Fireball ability
- Actual sprite and beginning animations (not implementation, only art)
- Beginning art for fire arena
- Ground tiles
- Background tiles (not implemented yet)
Next two weeks:
- Finish Flamie, the first character: https://trello.com/c/WZuXjUr5
- Q and E abilities
- Q will grow the player in size and increase movement speed, both extremely easy in code
- E will shoot a fireball. I plan to create a new script that instantiates the fireball with a start velocity, and I will handle the collision logic and knockback in the same script
- More art for animations
- Left-Shift dash animation
- Jumping animation and sliding animation
- Q animation (particles?)
- E animation will be only on the fireball itself
- Begin work on second character, Terrario
- This will likely consist of art creation (which I have an idea of how to do) and deciding on base stats: https://trello.com/c/xhRHWVNs
- Theorizing over how to do his abilities in code: https://trello.com/c/ObG704XL
